The Skilled Quill is owned by Amy Heilveil. Here is her description of her calligraphy business:
I specialize in single-designed, hand crafted documents, calligraphy and artwork. Ketubot, anniversary commemorations, bris and naming certificates, Torah portions for the bar and bat mitzvah celebrant, as well as invitations to life cycle events, are some of the items on which I work. I hand make the paints and inks with which I use to create my art. The art I create is mostly in the style of manuscripts from 10th through 17th centuries, often referred to as illuminated manuscripts. Pieces can be done on archival papers or goat, sheep, or calf parchment. For gold work, I use either 23k gold paint, raised 23k gold leaf, or ground mica paint.
